A Caring Safe Place, Inc. was founded by Rev. Stanley E. Phill in February 1997, and incorporated as a private 501c3 non-profit organization later in 1998. The agency is located in Houston’s Historic Fifth Ward, a place where poverty and hopelessness are high, and resources few. The agency has worked to transform this and other surrounding communities, one life at a time, one day at a time.
A Caring Safe Place operates with the mission to provide caring services that stabilize, improve, and transform the lives of vulnerable individuals and families.
We envision being an organization that measures our competence and quality of care by our ability to establish a true connection with clients such that they choose to be active participants in the overall direction of their services and ultimately, their well-being and lives.
A Caring Safe Place provides life impacting social services which include, but are not limited to the following: transitional and permanent housing, substance abuse and mental health counseling, health education, substance abuse support groups, and life skills education to all eligible participants.
We provide a therapeutic community in a home-like environment that nurtures, empowers, and supports residents throughout the recovery process. We are committed to ensuring a full continuum of care, by working closely with other service providers to bridge gaps for services not offered by the agency. Our dedicated and caring staff of professionals are actively involved in the day to day activities of each program participant.
